United States of Pop 2009 & 2010, Beat-by-Beat, Word-by-Word

Thanks to incredible work by Marcus Mangel and DJ AutoBoB, we now have beat-by-beat,
word-by-word breakdowns of DJ Earworm's United States of Pop 2009 and 2010.

Earworm builds his vocals by switching tracks almost every word, and it's a treat to see how he puts it all together. Check it out!

And Marcus has much more disection on the way over at Mashup Time Coding.

Just posted!  How Dubstep Music Destroyed My Life by the Abrahammer.  50 minutes of old and new all in one package.

Finally, Night Ripper is Posted!

Folks have been asking for a breakdown of Girl Talk's third album, Night Ripper ever since I launched the site back in November when Girl Talk released All Day (album #5).

Today I can share the great news: the heroic Corbin Whittington stepped up to the plate and compiled the sample data.  So enjoy!

Gorgeous Visualization of Daft Punk Mashup

Huge, huge props to Cameron Adams for this gorgeous mashup visualization -- and it doesn't hurt that the Daft Punk mashup is his own!

There's lots to love here: the the 4-beat anticipation of each new sample makes each entrance all the more exciting, and the real-time power spectrum makes it hard to tear your eyes away.

Make a mashup in your kitchen (Prodigy breakdown)

This video by boloshon shows how The Prodigy mashed up Kool & the Gang, the Ultramagnetic MCs, Randy Weston to make one of the most well-known tracks in Big Beat electronic music.

(Warning, lyrics completely NSFW, misogynistic, etc.)

The video creator goes into more depth in another (alas!) unfinished video.
